Never one to shy away from controversial topics, I have a new book coming out in August 2017 titled God and the Transgender Debate: What Does the Bible Actually Say about Gender Identity? Published through The Good Book Company, this book is hoping to be the first of its kind: A reader-friendly book aimed at helpings moms, dads, and Christians in the pews navigate the challenging landscape of such terms as “transgender,” “gender dysphoria,” “gender fluidity.” From Caitlynn Jenner to Facebook allowing individuals to identify with any number of “gender identities,” this book is written for those who have little to no knowledge about the complicated issue of transgenderism, but who know they can no longer sit on the sidelines as the issue challenges conventional ideas about what it means to be a man or woman throughout society. The book will discuss how we got to the place we did in culture today; a biblical evaluation of transgenderism; words of encouragement to those who struggle with gender dysphoria; and how Christians and the church can particularly love those for whom gender and biological sex pose real distress. I’m almost finished writing it. So, stay tuned, there’ll be more information as the release draws near, but for now, go and check it out (and maybe pre-order it?) on Amazon.
