The Human Side of Politics

Vice President Joe Biden gave one of the most human interviews I’ve ever seen by a political figure on last night’s edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Honestly, I’ve never seen anything like it. It is heartfelt, honest, and eminently beautiful.

My theological and political principles wouldn’t allow me to ever vote for Vice President Biden if he ran for president, but I’ve always admired him and have considered him a truly decent, kind, and good man—despite serious worldview differences I have with him. This interview reflecting on the death of his son, Beau, reflects this. Joe Biden emanates honesty and humility in doses that Hillary Clinton couldn’t achieve even if she tried to purchase it.
